500th RefWorks account created!

 

 

This week the 500th RefWorks-account has been created. All RefWorks users of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, students and staff together, have already added 47,672 references. You can view a small part of these references through RefShare, a part of RefWorks.

With RefWorks you can easily save references, manage them and export them in a bibliography or in-text citations. Saved references can be shared with others.

New Database: Cambridge Journals Online

Cambridge Journals Online has been added to the alphabetical list of databases. These are the steps you have to take to save references from this database to your RefWorks account:

1. Mark the titles (use the square behind the titles)
2. Click ‘Export Citation(s)’
3. Choose as file format RIS (don’t use the RefWorks options: your reference will be incomplete!)
4. Click ‘Download’
5. Save the file as a ris file
6. Choose as Import Filter ‘RIS Format”
7. Choose as Database ‘Cambridge Journals Online’

New Databases: BioOne and Multi-Science

The UL offers two new databases: BioOne and Multi-Science. This is how you can add references from these databases to your RefWorks-account:

BioOne

1.  Mark the titles 
2. Click on the top of the list of titles the link ‘Download to Citation Manager’
3. Choose behind Format for ‘RefWorks’
4. Click on the button ‘Download article citation data’

Multi-Science

1. Mark the titles
2. Click ‘Update marked list’
3. Click ‘Bookmarking options’ and choose ‘Marked list’
4. Click ‘Export Options’ at the right side and choose ‘Plain text’
5. Save the file as a text file
6. The Import Filter is: Ingenta
7. The Database is: Online Articles
